Richard Ormond, an internationally recognized scholar of Victorian painting, was Director of the National Maritime Museum, and before that Deputy Director of the National Portrait Gallery. He is now an independent art historian and commits himself full time to writing. He is also Director of the John Singer Sargent catalogue raisonne project. |
